Head Coach/Partner - James Bone BA (Hons)

James started of his coaching as an assistant coach at the age of 14 has been coaching for 9
years now at a number of venues in West Sussex and Hampshire and also been involved in
coaching at Primary and Secondary schools. James was involved with an event called
StreetSports between 2006 and 2008, which is a community initiative run by Havant Borough
Council. 

James is working alongside Alex in coaching and developing the coaching programmes at all of
the clubs and schools and running Generation Tennis as a business.  

James’ qualifications/awards are as follows:
DCA qualified,
LTA licensed,
Appointed person in First Aid,
Up to date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) with the LTA and Portsmouth City Council,
Tennis Leader Tutor,
BA (Hons) Business Administration Degree.

Head Coach/Partner - Alex Bone BA (Hons)

Alex also started coaching as an assistant coach at the age of 14 and has been coaching for 11
years now at a number of venues in West Sussex and Hampshire. Alex has also been involved in
coaching at Primary and Secondary schools and was involved with StreetSports between 2003
and 2006. Between June 2008 and November 2009 Alex worked for a company in London dealing
with the Financial Services industry and Healthcare Industry, whilst still coaching and maintaining
his coaching Licence.   
Alex is working alongside James in coaching and developing the coaching programmes at all of
the clubs and schools and running Generation Tennis as a business.  

Alex’s qualifications/awards are as follows:
DCA qualified,
LTA licensed,
Appointed person in First Aid,
Up to date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) with the LTA and Portsmouth City Council,
Tennis Leader Tutor,
BA (Hons) Business Studies Degree.

Coach - Mike Privett

Mike played to a national level in tennis up to under 15, he was ranked 1 in county and has
played national league for Warsash, Lee OnSolent and Guernsey in National league 1. Mike has
been coaching for 8 years and started off as a Tennis Assistant at Guernsey Tennis Centre. He
has also worked for the Advantage Tennis Academy. For the last year Mike has been coaching
with Chris Wilkinson at Lee OnSolent; joint running both adult and junior programmes.

Mike’s qualifications/awards are as follows:
Level 2 Coach,
Tennis Leaders Award,
Up to date CRB with the LTA,
First Aid Trained.

Assistant Coach – Steph Bone

Steph has been assisting for 5 years in many coaching venues and programmes.  Steph
specialises in mini coaching and runs and assists various groups throughout the programme.
Steph will be heading up and running the Mini Red Round Robin events that will take place in
January 2011.

Steph’s qualifications/awards are as follows:
Level 1 Assistant Coach,
Sport Leaders Award,
Up to date CRB with the LTA and Portsmouth City Council,
First aid trained.

Assistant Coach – J.J Bone

J.J has been assisting for 4 years in many coaching venues and programmes. He adds great
enthusiasm and quality to all coaching lessons he assists on and is currently planning on
becoming a Level 2 Coach in 2011.

J.J’s qualifications/awards are as follows:
Level 1 Assistant Coach,
Sport Leaders Award,
Up to date CRB with the LTA and Portsmouth City Council,
First aid trained.

Assistant Coach - Sam Hart

Sam has been assisting for 2 years with Alex and James at Fishbourne Tennis Club. Sam has
been involved with the mini tennis programme working with James to develop all mini players. 
Sam is currently planning on becoming a Level 2 Coach in 2011.

Sam’s qualifications/awards are as follows:
Level 1 Assistant Coach,
Sport Leaders Award,
Up to date CRB with the LTA,
First aid trained.

Assistant Coach – Tom Foster

Tom has recently become a part of the Generation Tennis’s team and has been a huge asset this
year, helping on junior and mini groups, Easter camps and Summer camps. Tom brings great
motivation to the court.
